Silverchair serves a range of scholarly and professional publishers, from independent association publishers with a single journal, to aggregators who in turn serve hundreds of societies. For this reason, Silverchair offers a variety of development team models to best suit each individual client.

One of these is the Retained Development Team (RDT) Model. Under an RDT model, Silverchair dedicates key delivery, development, and quality assurance resources to a single client, with an agreed amount of capacity available within each Agile program increment. Those resources work closely with the client team to build out new features and to provide business as usual support. For a deeper dive into how this model works, Silverchair sat down with our colleagues from the JAMA Network, who have operated with a retained team since 2015, to discuss their experience.
