(Charlottesville, VA and New York, NY) February 27, 2017 – Silverchair Information Systems announced today that it has extended its partnership with The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Since 2012, that collaboration has focused on the ASME Digital Collection (formerly known as The ASME Digital Library), ASME’s repository of current and archival literature featuring ASME's Transaction Journals from 1960 to the present, ASME's Conference Proceedings from 2002 to the present, and ASME Press eBooks selected from 1993 to the present.

Founded in 1880, ASME is a not-for-profit membership organization that includes more than 130,000 members in 151 countries. Known and respected throughout the world for setting standards and certification for various industries, ASME also conducts one of the world's largest technical publishing operations, holds numerous technical conferences and hundreds of professional development courses each year, and sponsors numerous outreach and educational programs.

“We are excited to continue our collaboration with ASME to refine and enhance the ASME Digital Collection,” said Thane Kerner, Silverchair CEO. “Silverchair’s flexible, natively semantic platform will allow ASME to continue to deliver a more customized user experience for Digital Collection readers that enhances discoverability by surfacing topically related content on article pages, search, and topic collections.”

“In addition to their prowess and competency as a technology company, Silverchair’s forward thinking complements ASME’s strategic direction,” said Philip DiVietro, Managing Director, Publishing, ASME. “This is a powerful fit.”
