Hosted on the Silverchair Platform since 2013, AJOT is a peer-reviewed journal focusing on research, practice, and health care issues in the field of occupational therapy. The new website brings the journal and its branding up to date with the most modern version of Silverchair’s tools and platform, as well as provide AOTA staff the power to update their website, create new content, and launch collections, expanding the scope of materials they can offer to the occupational therapy community in a way that is both time- and cost-efficient for their organization.

“The new AJOT site offers an improved, modern experience for the many users who rely on it, while giving AOTA greater flexibility, agility, and independence,” said Thane Kerner, Silverchair CEO. "We are delighted to continue our collaboration with AOTA, the leader in advancing the quality, availability, use, and support of occupational therapy.”

“The launch of the new and improved AJOT site directly supports AOTA’s commitment to digital transformation and providing ease of access to research that drives science-driven, evidence-based occupational therapy practice,” said Sherry Keramidas, PhD, FASAE, CAE, Executive Director of AOTA. “We are so pleased to empower occupational therapy practitioners, educators, and students with this new technology and are thankful for our collaboration with Silverchair.”

The new site includes the following new features and other tools to help readers more easily find and integrate the evidence presented in AJOT into their practice:

  • Collections on key topics, with an emphasis on evidence-based practice
  • Quick links to related articles—easily jump to the systematic reviews that went into development of practice guidelines, for example
  • Ability to browse using a practitioner-friendly taxonomy
  • Split-screen view, to see tables and figures right next to the text
  • Easier navigation for Conference abstracts
  • Improved search, including the ability to save searches and receive alerts when new content is published on the topic.
